Community Information
San Diego County is big - twice the size of Delaware! Roughly rectangular, it's about 73 miles East to West and 58 miles North to South. But size is deceiving. Due to the hotter temperatures and steeper terrain as you travel inland, about 90% of the 2.7+/- million residents live within 20 miles of the coast. The heaviest density is in the South portion, in and around the City of San Diego. The "North County" coastal area is more rural and small town in nature and, to those of us who live here, just about perfect in weather and lifestyle. Yet as you will see by exploring these links, we're far from isolated. For example, from Carlsbad to the airport in San Diego usually takes no more than 35 to 40 minutes.
